NEW FILM - TSAR
Pavel Lungin has released now after Cannes festival in Francia his film of the story of Tsar Ivan the Threatening (Ivan Groznij) and his opposition by his opprichniki and destruction and murder by Metropolit Philip of Moskow. Philip Moskovskij is now a saint of Orthodox church for his martyrdom at hands of Tsar Ivan., His is dramatic story somewhat like tail in West of Tomas of Becket. Philip defended people against Tsar and was killed.
This movie is very important because it can be compared to famous Sergei Eisenstein movie of 1945 Ivan Groznij:

New film, Tsar, emphasizes good and evil and suffering of good and apparent triumph of evil. Film of Eisenstein had Stalinist view perhaps Ivan Groznij terrible but not so bad - just to look at what he did.
