has been recently published in 2004/05. The author is David Allen Rivera. Has anyone read it? What did you think? The author claims it gives a history of why the UN came about and what its intended purpose is.

I have not purchased the book yet and have only read excerpts. Has anyone read it?
 
When I hear “New World Order”, I automatically think paranoid conspiracy nuts.

If the diabolic forces of the New World Order are really as all reaching and powerful as is maintained by NWO theorists, then there’s nothing we can do about it anyway, and it makes about as much sense worrying about it as it would to worry about a asteroid hitting the earth.

Your time is better spent reading the Desert Fathers.

Well, I do understand your sentiment, there does seem to be an awful lot of effort by “some” to indentify people as “conspiracy nuts”. When I hear that term, I wonder why they try so hard to defame people who have simply put two and two together. But of course, you are welcome to your opinion.

My spiritual life is very diverse and I quite enjoy reading about mystics and the way God has worked in their lives. However, this should not preclude me from being “innocent as doves, but wise as serpents.”
 
the New World Order is inevitable. It’s written in the Bible and has recentley shown manifestations of it appearing very soon…

Has anyone read much history on it? How does the new world order and the Bible relate? In what way does the Bible show manifestations of it? I’m just trying to put the whole picture together…
 
Some books seem to have everything sewed up completely, others only alude to the fact that there is a master plan of some sort. What about our world banking system? Is this tied into it?

Well, the Anti-Christ will set up a New World Order including a new World Religion and you wont be able to trade, buy, or sell without it.

Current manifestations of the NWO are the Internet, UN…

Well, since the Lutherans and the evangelicals think the Pope is the anti-christ, Pope Benedict is going to be one busy fellow. The whole thing sounds too much like Pat Robertson rant.

It does appear that technology will play a large part in the New World Order. These things in and of themselves are not bad. It will be the “misuse” of these technologies that should raise a red flag, from what I’ve read.

I don’t think most protestants think that the Pope is the Antichrist, not the ones that have bothered to study Church History, etc…but, there are fringe groups who think so. Most of them have made up their minds and don’t want to be confused with the facts…IMHO… :rolleyes:

From my battles on Luther Quest, I have come to believe that the official stance of the Lutheran Church missouri synod, is that the Pope and all the Popes since the reformation, are all the anti-christ.
 
I work with someone that always warns about the new world order. The latest thing I heard about was the Council of Foreign Relations. Somehow they and the WTO are in the drivers seat.

If that is their official position, it would seem strange that they would have any ecumenical conferences with Catholics, then. Wouldn’t they view it as “consorting” with the devil.

I do think the devil is clever enough to pit christians against each other while he’s busy about his master plan of trying to do away with all semblances of God.

He (the devil) is a master at having us exam the speck in another’s eye whilst ignoring the plank in our own.

One last side note (this could be continued on another thread) - There is no better time in history for all christians to try to come to agreement on a number of issues. The world is “smaller” than its ever been. More information (history in context) is available now more than ever. It is a good time to put rumors behind us and together with the Holy Spirit, examine who we are as church, the Body of Christ.

I think that is what Satan really fears. If Christians were to come to a real unity in mind, body and spirit, so that they could worship in “spirit and truth” that would be a great threat to his dark kingdom. …But all of us would be one step closer to the “thy Kingdom come on earth…as it is in heaven.”

Have you (or anyone) done any research on the subject? I’ve just recently become interested and it seems that most of the info available talks about how there will be or is, a world banking system run by a very few “at the top.” And, then different books go into different details about “how” and “why” the one world banking system was necessary to form a One World government.

So far, it’s hard to disagree that a “financial system” controls just about everything we do, or are allowed to do, in this life…but where it will go from here, I don’t know.
