Hey there everyone! I’ve been scouring the internet for information, but I decided to come here since you’re all so helpful.

I’m hoping to go to this Ukrainian Greek-Catholic church near where I live, but I’ve run into some difficulty. It is listed on Byzcath as active as well as on the Eparchy’s website. However, there are no real photos of it, it has no website, no bullitens listed online or anything like that.

I tried calling the number listed, but it went nowhere. However, since it’s on the Eparchy of Stamford’s website, it must be active, right?

Does anyoen know of St. John the Baptist in Pittsfield MA? Is it worth me going in the hopes that it’s an active church?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I’m not from that area so I can’t give you any information regarding that church, but I can provide some advice. If you have the address and know the time of the mass, it can’t hurt to try it out. I encourage you to sit in the back of the church so that if you feel uncomfortable, you can slip out if necessary. If you don’t have the mass time, try to swing by because most churches have a sign which displays their mass times or you can call and find out.

If this parish doesn’t work for you, I’m sure with a simple search and visiting several places, God will lead you to the right one.

Good luck SG

Thank you for the kind advice. I’ve worshiped with the Melkites before, but I’m sure this will be a little bit different. Also, the church is close enough that if for some reason it is inactive, I can drive back for Mass at my home parish 🙂

It appears that St. John’s is administered from St. Nicholas in Hudson, NY.

This should help:
