Hah, symmetry! šŸ˜› 😃 Yup. Want kind, be kind. Want honourable, be honourable. Want good shape, keep good shape. And so on. Too bad there’s no such clue with personalities, interests and the like. šŸ˜› Personally, I think we need some levels on which to relate, some room to complement each other and finally something to discover. Proportions are hard and sometimes the three also overlap - they don’t actually exclude one another. I freely admit I have no precise idea what such proportions would be with me. I probably need a strategic alliance with a comity bonus. šŸ˜› Other people will have it differentā€¦šŸ˜‰

I find it funny that people point out the obvious like ā€˜go to retreats, go to mass, volunteer here, volunteer there’

Oh no, I completely forgot to do the obvious

Maybe some of you were blessed to meet people that you were interested in AND people interested back at you at every mass, retreat and catholic get together that you went to, but that’s not the case for everyone.

I’m getting sick of ā€˜wait, pray and have faith’

It’s just an example of what to do–there’s no hard and fast rules.

by the way–I met my husband through an ex boyfriend…and we happened to be Catholic, and enjoyed mass…God should really start a match making site–He is really amazing at it!😃

But where is the question šŸ˜‰

Actually, my now husband was part of a group of guys who threw a party for my ex who was moving away. I really didn’t want to go, and he ended up talking me into it. So, in some unlikely places, God can perform miracles. I think though, that all in all, I knew I wanted to marry a practicing Catholic, with many of the morals and values I hold dear to my heart–and I have been blessed to find that. It has not always been a picnic, my husband has a very different personality than mine–but through thick and thin, we’re still together, and in love. I think that it’s important to ā€˜be’ what you are looking for, though, and it might be a bit easier to attract a like minded person. Now, personalities, etc will be different…I’m talking more character/foundational things.

Glad things worked out for you the way it did.

God Bless

You might start with capitalizing the word ā€œGod.ā€ Yeah?

Good luck, you’ll find her. šŸ‘

Now that you’ve (maybe reluctantly) revealed your location, I’m going to chime in. All of the PP have given you some great ideas and I just thought I’d add to them, knowing your location.

I have found that the Denver Archdiocese is quite conservative, much to my surprise. The parish that I go to has a lot of activities and getting involved in those would certainly be a good way to meet people. The mass I go to has a lot of young (and, dare I say attractive) people who go to mass alone. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they are single, but it is a start.

Although you’ll have to wait until you’re 21, you may want to consider going to the Theology on Tap sessions that are sponsored by the Diocese. I would assume that it is a good way to meet other young, single Catholics, who are serious about their religion.

Regis University (a Jesuit instiution) is located in Denver and I’m sure has a lot of activities for its students. Maybe you could look into transfering? Or to going to church there (I know they have a chapel on campus) or going to a church close to Regis.

Just some thoughts…

You are young and have plenty of time to meet Miss Right. Hang in there, keep praying, and you may end up meeting that special someone when you least expect it. God works in mysterious ways.
