Can anyone help me locate a copy in good condition of Vol. 2 of the Confraternity Bible? (It was published in 1969 by St. Anthony Guild Press of Paterson, NJ, and the full title is “The Holy Bible Translated from the Original Languages with Critical Use of All the Ancient Sources by Members of the Catholic Biblical Association of America Sponsored by the Episcopal Committee of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine [Volume Two] Samuel to Maccabees”.)
I have several editions of Catholic Bibles published at various times in the 1950’s through the 1960’s, and they vary as to how much of the O.T. remains the Douay Translation and how much incorporate the “new” Confraternity Translation. As far as I can tell, the Volume Two [from Samuel to Maccabees] was published separately in 1969 and never made it into any of the published editions of the complete “Confraternity Bible”.
I have tried finding this volume for sale on Amazon and eBay, but to no avail. I would be willing to purchase the complete four-volume set (separately published between 1941 and 1969) just to obtain Volume 2. Does anyone have a copy he or she would like to sell? Can anyone point me to other places online that might have a copy for sale or at least would let me post my interest in buying one?
Thank you!
