Can I ask, where does the New Testament show that believing is called being baptized? I can find a number of verses that make a distinction between believing and being baptized:

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mk 16:16)

“Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.” (Acts 18:8)

Roman 6;3 Know ye not, that as many of us as were baptized (not water) into Jesus Christ (this happens at the moment that you believe) were baptized into his death

Galations 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized (not water) into Christ have put on Christ

Good! So, then, after this, why do they need to be baptized to join a local church?

I do not know what they do in a Catholic Church when an baby is baptized and a child does all the thing that a Catholic child has to do. Do they become members of that local Catholic Church
When a new believer is baptized in a Baptist Church at is just a profession of their faith in Jesus Christ and they want to be obebient to God’s command to be baptized.
Becoming a member of the loacl Baptist church is optional but no one is treated any different if they chose not to join.
Also if you have been baptized in believers baptism at another church you do not have to be re-baptzed. All you need prove from the church you are coming from

You inserted the words “not water” into both verses. You can’t change the Bible.

So, I’ll ask again: where does the New Testament say that believing is being baptized?
