I begin RCIA in 3 weeks. I was curious if there were any RCIA veterans out there and how their first Eucharist and Confession experience went. Thanks!

The first time that I received the body and blood of Christ was probably the most spiritual and emotional experience of my life. Tears were falling. I could barely choke out my, “Amen”. My hands were trembling as I took the cup. Back at my pew, on my knees, all I could pray was, “Thank you” over and over.I begin RCIA in 3 weeks. I can’t wait.My first Communion was wonderful. Really no words to describe it. It was pure joy to go up with the rest of the faithful and to be able to receive Jesus after waiting so long to. I only received Communion twice, once at Easter Vigil and again on Easter Sunday Mass. I am waiting to have my marriage blessed so I can receive again. The wait is killing me but it will be joy all over again once I can receive again. I also was accepted into the Church this passed Easter. I was baptized and so I didn’t need to go to Confession and I have yet to go but really should! Good luck!

My first experience with these two blessed sacraments were ones I thank God for everyday!
In regards to confession, what a wonderful blessing of grace it was (and is) to lay out all of my faults and to receive God’s grace, absolution, and counsel.
As for the Eucharist, it continues to be a weekly blessing, but I can remember the first time I received, it brought tears to my eyes. To finally join in full celebration of the Eucharist was an example of God’s love I had yet to experience.
So I wish you good luck and congratulations as you begin your new journey. And remember to always ask during your classes, it’s important to know your faith!
Welcome home!
