First Ever First Things Thread

Does anyone here ever read the magazine First Things?

They had an exceptional piece by George Weigel on the Iraq War and just war tradition and I was inspired to start a thread for this wonderful magazine for all us “rofters” to discuss the current issue.

Anyone else read this month’s issue?

I have read about half of it so far. A friend (who got his copy before me) pointed out the article on Wheaton. My friend was particularly interested because Josh Hochschild had applied afor a position at his university last year.

I haven’t read the Weigel article yet, but it sounds good. Being Canadian, I tend to skim American political articles.

I’ve been reading First Things on and off since college. It’s one of the things that’s drawn us to the church. A combined First Things/G. K. Chesterton/Michael O’Brien/Thomas Merton whammy.

Thanks for reminding me, my husband always egarly awaits it’s arrive. Our arrived today, and …in a hurry…put it up on the shelf and forgot to show it to him…I go now, to do that… I am sure my husband thanks you too…Pam
