Wish me luck. I’ve gone once before, but it was with a guest priest, and I was very vague. Was reading up… Told me to picture the priest as Jesus crucified right in front of me. If anyone has links to help me a bit please post.

You’ll be fine. The Priest is there to help you, make sure you tell him that it’s your first “real” confession. That’s what I did and I got a lot of help! I was scared and nervous too, but my Confessor quickly had me feeling comfortable with the process.

I love going to Confession now, I go at least once a month.

Dont really have any links, but I know a bit about Confession. If you have a specific question or concern, please feel free to ask. 🙂

Consider it already done…and remember to call on St. Anthony of Padua for his intercession…he will give you the strength to make a good and complete confession without nervousness or fear, he is a strong pillar ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. He has helped me immensely and I keep his picture always on my person…

In 1999, I was privileged to be chosen as part of a papal speaking team giving talks on the upcoming millennium. These talks were prepared for us by most learned theologians. We flew around the state giving these talks at different parishes. My talk, in part, had to do with the sacrament of Confession. One part that burned into my brain was, **“Sacramental Confession is an objective encounter with the person of Jesus Christ.” ** In other words, with the words of absolution, this is Jesus speaking through the priest. Always remember this whenever you receive this sacrament.

Just did it, and then went to mass afterward. I feel two-tons lighter.
