I will just say that when I serve, I such a sense of joy in doing so. It doesn’t matter what kind of mood I may be in when I first walk in the door at mass, I know that when I leave after serving, I am filled even more with joy for some reason. I think part of that is seeing all the people that I am able to give communion to. Some just take it and mumble something and others have this look of joy on their faces and it is such a blessing that God allows me to see that.

I’m glad that you were able to serve and experience the joy of doing this.

My goodness has this gotten out of hand! For the last time…I AM NOT SICK! would you like me to send you a note from my doctor? Had my doctor said this was anything besides allergies I would have called some one to replace me. You are really making this into far more then need be. My reaction to pollen is not going to spread to those in my parish. Do you honestly believe that the Blood of Christ can be tainted by my allergy??? Come on now, its time to drop this.

Shelly,
Please stop for a minute and think about what I have said.

You came here asking what to do. Four posters said the best thing to do would be to find a replacement. Why? Because you look and are acting sick.

You decided to serve anyway. Why? Well, to use your own words, " This was something that was very important to me."

My next comment was that I hoped you weren’t actually sick. Sorry, but I have had horrible allergies. And allergies can open your system to infection. The fact that you later comment about seeing a doctor, and comment about only coughing once and not singing because it will make your voice horse, what are we suppose to think?. 🤷

I also comment about, it being important to you, shouldn’t be a reason to serve. Now, I am not indicating that serving shouldn’t be important. It is. What I am saying is that how it makes you feel shouldn’t be a reason.

Sorry, for responding. But you did ask for our opinion.
