My Mum and Dad and Sister’s family were all evacuated from Whittlesea on Saturday, but were able to go back home Sunday after the cool change and change of wind direction. Throught the grace of God and the courage of the firefighters, they and their homes are OK. Mum and Dad’s place is pretty much in the middle of town. My sis is a bit further out on a property; their house just stinks of smoke. They’ve got another couple staying with them who managed to escape their home with the clothes on their backs and their baby in a nappy; they had no warning, they just piled into the car and WENT. Even left thier wallets and cellphones in the house - which is no longer there. The fire was THAT fast, up to 100km/h (60 mp/h) gusts; they smelt smoke, then embers started raining down, next thing the fire-front was coming over the hill…incerdibly scary.

Prayers for the dead and thoughts to the CFA, SES and other emergency workers. Just had a phonecall; looks like our Police unit might be shutting down and us going out to do our bit, even if it’s just traffic control…

Will keep you updated.

Apparently now one the main problems is traffic from STUPID SIGHTSEERS…what are these morbid fools thinking??? Or more obviously they’re not…

Praying so hard that God would send some life giving rain to help put the fires out as well as help provide for those who have lost everything.

*Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God
pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

*August Queen of the Heavens, heavenly sovereign of the Angels, Thou who from the beginning received from God the power and the mission to crush the head of Satan, we humbly beseech Thee to send Your holy Legions, so that under Thy command and through Thy power, they may pursue the demons and combat them everywhere, suppress their boldness, and drive them back into the abyss. Who is like God? O good and tender Mother, Thou will always be our love and hope! O Divine Mother, send Thy Holy Angels to defend me and to drive far away from me the cruel enemy. Holy Angels and Archangels, defend us, guard us. Amen.

Loving God,

We come before you today and ask for your mercy and charity as we try to do the best we can to love and serve you and your people each day, and we often come up short of the desire you have for us. Please continue to bless and protect the people of Australia and prevent this challenging weather pattern from taking the lives of your people in accordance with your Holy and perfect will. Please protect all your people and especially Trishie’s family and the families of all who generously pray for your people on this board. We want our friends to be without anguish and anxiety and the past several days have been very hard on them. Please help all your people of this region to be strong, have courage, have hope, and be the face of your son Jesus to one another in these difficult times. Grant a strong faith and a strong back to your people, and bless all the care givers, fire fighters, police, and rescue workers who face extraordinary times and see the most difficult things as they lovingly carry out their duty to your people.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Amen.

Praying for all the Aussies and that God will send some life needed rain to put the fires out without any thunderstorms. Praying for their safety as well.

Praying for your family in Australia.
Holy patroness of those in need, St. Rita,
so humble, pure, and patient,
whose pleadings with your Divine Spouse are irresistible,
obtain for us,
from your crucified Jesus,
our request which is to please protect Trishie’s family from the floods and fires in Australia.
Be propitious towards us
for the greater glory of God and yourself,
and we promise to honor
and sing your praises ever afterward.

Amen.

Loving God,

We continue our prayers of caring and compassion for the safety, recovery, and eternal grace for the people affected by these events in the great country of Australia. Please receive the dear departed into the light of your presence and into the place our Lord Jesus has prepared for them. Please provide strength and courage to all who must rebuild their lives and to the care givers and support teams who will help them. Please bless all who care for and provide for the rebuilding process. Please help all involved to accept your divine and perfect will and carry the cross with hope and a strong faith. Please bless our friends and their families especially Trishie, Jakob, and all who participate in praying for God’s people.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
