There’s another thread on this over in Moral Theology section… 🙂

I’m a supporter of the general concept of the specialty plates in FL (I have one that says “Choose Life” :D)… so I enjoy the ability to have that choice.
Basically, it’s the ability to advertise for a charity, because the additional fees for the plate go toward some charitable fund. My “Choose Life” plate goes toward adoption programs.

Personally, I wouldn’t purchase that particular plate just because it’s Christian based… plus, I’m NOT particularly drawn to the charity it supports…

I don’t see anything particularly wrong with it… just seems to be taking advantage of Christianity just for it’s particular charitable cause…

If you get one, be sure that your driving is extra polite. People will notice the plate every time you do something wrong or impolite. That’s not what we need for evangelization.

This reminds me of a joke I once heard.

One day a man was driving when another driver cut him off on a day when he was just in no mood for it. So in retaliation he proceeded to cut the other driver off, gave her the middle finger, yell, and swear at her as “payback”.

A few moments later he noticed a police car behind him with the light flashing so he pulled over. The police officer got out of his car with his gun drawn and ordered the man to put his hands behind his head. The officer then slammed him against the hood, cuffed him threw him in the back of the police car.

The man asked, “Officer why are you arresting me?”

The officer replied, “Auto theft”.

The man said, “Auto theft? But that’s my car. Just check the registration.”

The officer checked the man’s registration, came back, un-cuffed him and said, “I’m sorry sir, I just assumed that with the fish emblem, “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter”, “Wise Men Still Seek Him”, and other Christian stickers all over the car it MUST have been stolen based on the way the driver was acting."
