✝️ PAX DOMINUS VOBISCUM ✝️

I would like to know the audience’s views regarding the “Focolare” Movement - whether is a Spiritual Movement which is in line with Church Teaching or like any other cult…

Anticipating replies from a Traditionalist Catholic perspective…

Thanks in advance…🙂

Eh, at best it seems to me like one of those “movements” that kind of make it seem like they think you should join their group or community and/or go to their meetings to do what you should be doing simply as a Christian to begin with–in other words, it seems superfluous. At worst, at least from what I have seen in some sources online, they can promote a watered down version of Christ’s words “that they all be one” to be more of just a peaceful “being together” that ignores religious differences (ie they promote more of a social oneness detached from the transcendent).

They have an official juridical status in the Church as an international association of the faithful.

I am of course open to correction from those with a more intimate perspective.

I just know that one of my favorite blesseds was an active participant in the movement, Blessed Chiara Badano.

From my quick cursory research, it looks like it is on its way to becoming a generalized ‘organization of good will’ - which is probably a better use of people’s time and energy than staying at home and playing video games, but not as good as being involved in their own parish activities.
