I wanted to share my experience on how things work out when you follow God’s will.

I have felt drawn to start a new career and become a nurse. I have never thought of working in the medical field and am way out of my comfort zone. But I strongly feel that is where God wants me.

I just finished my nursing assistant course and passed the state test. I felt God guiding through my class and test. My partner was a christian from Africa. We prayed for each other before we started class each day. While in the process of taking care of an elderly 100% disabled women which was extremely challenging, she stopped and looked at me and said, “you know we are getting many blessings for this. Doing God’s work.”

Just before taking the written part of the state test, the tester asked how many of us pray. And then told us that she prayed for each one of us on her ride to the test center. That is the peace we are feeling.

During the clinical part, I was a nervous wreck. Afraid I would do something stupid. The skills being tested are easy but I was way out of my comfort zone. I passed without make one mistake 🙂

I dropped off my resume at a LTC facility on Wednesday. They called me that day for an interview. The interview was schedule at 11AM so I was able to go to daily mass and adoration before my interview. I have never been so calm at an interview. It just felt right. The director of nursing told me the nursing home was her home and that she wanted to hire people who would love it as much as her. She is just waiting for my license to come through the state and my background check and then I have the job. She even knew one of my references 🙂

I have applied for a nursing school and am currently taking a biology and chemistry course. Everything is going smoothly, like I have a guardian angel taking care of everything behind the scenes 🙂

I just wanted to share. I would love to hear other positive stories. My journey is just beginning and I am nervous and excited.

I am so happy for you!

Prayer along our way certainly does help, and when we show the Lord we depend on Him for everything He is there for us in many surprising ways. He cares about every thing about us, big or small.

All of our children need to be taught by their parents and CCD teachers to take prayer seriously every day of their lives. Prayer for one’s vocation is critical!
