Christmas is coming up and it’s a tough time for a lot of people trying to make ends meat, this time last year, there was a lot of hype in the gypsy and traveller community about the food bank challenge, gypsies and travellers as well as a few other communities practically filled up the food banks here in England to the point that they where overflowing, Christmas is approaching again but the food bank challenge doesn’t seem to be making a return,
So if anyone wants to participate in the food bank challenge, it works just like to ice bucket challenge, you go and buy some stuff for the food bank video it and nominate some people to participate then post it on social media with the hashtag #foodbankchallenge whoever you nominate has to complete the challenge within 48hrs, the reason to upload it to social media is to spread it so more people will participate, I think everyone who can afford it should do it we should feed the world this Christmas I nominate everyone who can afford it to participate in this challenge

This is contrary to Christ’s teachings in Matthew chapter 6:

“[But] take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you".

Modern world calls it “virtue signalling”.

We all need to be generous and give to the poor, just, don’t make a show of it.

No not to make a show of it but to spread it and make it famous this is what spread it last year this challenge sort of became famous the food banks were full and overflowing all over England it even ended up in the newspaper here it works like the ice bucket challenge social media is good for spreading things good and bad if you didn’t want to do a video you could do it and nominate some of your freinds to do it but if it were on social media it would inspire more people do it I haven’t done it yet I was going to but instead I opted to do something else and it what’s in your heart that counts if your doing it out of love and you want to spread it then I think it’s okay to post on social media but if your doing it for likes and for people to see then I don’t think it’s okay again it depends what’s in your heart God sees what’s in our hearts and what our intentions are xxx
