I pray that all Bishops, Priests, and Deacons would have peace and joy during all trials, and have the courage to gently and clearly teach the fulness of Catholic teaching.

A Prayer for Deacons, Priests, Bishops, and Religious

Heavenly Father, in Your wisdom You have called
certain women and men to lives of consecration:
deacons, priests, bishops, and religious. Please
help these servants of Church fulfill their vocations,
according to their stations in life.

We pray:

For those called to lead:
that they teach their sheep with clarity and compassion.

For those called to obedience:
that they obey their superiors with humility.

For those called to chastity:
that they be preserved from sexual temptation.

For those called to poverty:
that they rejoice in their treasure in heaven.

For those called to community:
that they live in harmony.

For those called to enclosure:
that they bless us through their lives of prayer.

Give them all, Lord, the grace of joy and
perseverance in their holy vocations and
shield them from all discouragement and
temptation.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives
and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one
God, for ever and ever. Amen.

God, eternal shepherd, You have chosen servants
to be shepherds of Your flock. Give Your bishops
a spirit of courage, integrity and right judgment,
a spirit of knowledge, and love.

By governing with fidelity those entrusted to His care,
may they lead Your Church as a sign of salvation
for the world. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for Priests

Gracious and loving God, we thank You for the gift
of our priests. Through them, we experience Your
presence in the sacraments.

Help our priests to be strong in their vocations. Set
their souls on fire with love for Your people.

Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength
they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire
them with the vision of Your Kingdom.

Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy in their ministries. Help
them become instruments of Your Divine Grace.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and
reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.

Prayer for Deacons and Lay Ministers

Heavenly Father,
Since the time of the Apostles You have inspired the Church
to commission certain members to assist in a special way
in the pastoral mission of Christ. Bless deacons and lay
ministers that they may be humble and faith-inspired in
their service.

Through Christ Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
