Please pray for all our clergy – deacons, priests, bishops, cardinals, Pope Francis. I see such a massive distrust of them, and of all places, it’s here at CAF. Constant questioning of every word, every gesture – did this make my baptism/my absolution/this Mass invalid? Is this liturgical abuse? And more criticism of our new Pope by Catholics than by anyone else.

Dear Lord, keep them safe in your Sacred Heart.

Dear Lord, help our society to respect our Priests and religious as they did years ago.
Help the Church to help the world think differently about all of those holding
positions in our Church. Help the priests who have to be extra careful about their behavior or words said so as not to be misinterpreted. Bless them Lord for the
work they are doing in Your name and help sustain them as they face doubt with the public because of those who have dealt wrongly in their roll as followers of You.

I pray Lord for the priests who need redirection and struggle with some very difficult
personal problems and I PRAISE YOU LORD for the priests and religious who have
shown us through You the fullness of Your Love and the roll of what a true priest
is and does in our Church.
Amen.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

St. Michael, the Archangel! Glorious Prince, chief and champion of the heavenly hosts; guardian of the souls of men; conqueror of the rebel angels! How beautiful art thou, in thy heaven-made armor. We love thee, dear Prince of Heaven!

We, thy happy clients, yearn to enjoy thy special protection. Obtain for us from God a share of thy sturdy courage; pray that we may have a strong and tender love for our Redeemer and, in every danger or temptation, be invincible against the enemy of our souls. O standard-bearer of our salvation! Be with us in our last moments and when our souls quit this earthly exile, carry them safely to the judgement seat of Christ, and may Our Lord and Master bid thee bear us speedily to the kingdom of eternal bliss. Teach us ever to repeat the sublime cry: “Who is like unto God?” Amen.

Prayer to Saint Jude

O Holy St Jude!
Apostle and Martyr,
great in virtue and rich in miracles,
near kinsman of Jesus Christ,
faithful intercessor for all who invoke you,
special patron in time of need;
to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart,
and humbly beg you,
to whom God has given such great power,
to come to my assistance;
help me now in my urgent need and grant my earnest petition.
I will never forget thy graces and favors you obtain for me
and I will do my utmost to spread devotion to you. Amen.

A Prayer to St. Jude

Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of.

Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of.

Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings,*** particularly for all our clergy, against the tide of distrust, ***and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever.

I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.

Amen.

Firstly I believe that 95% of our priests are wonderful men of God who have tried to serve faithfully. I feel very sad for those who have been falsely painted with the same brush as those 5-6% that have been charged with abuse and the like. For our good priests, I ask that God assist them at this time where they might be falsely judged and monitored.

This being said, I also do not think that we are called to trust all people, including priests. I do believe we are called to be discerning. Respect, is something that must be earned and should not be ascribed. The lesson we can draw from abuse cases is to acknowledge that it is possible for evil to infiltrate the church… There is a scripture warning us that weeds will grow amongst the wheat. As such, we need to be discerning. Often the laity have treated priests like Gods which is inappropriate because they are not Gods but are servants of God just as we are. All of us are human, including priests.

I was raised in a time when a priest was given God like powers in the parish and community… I believe this is partly why the very few abusive priests were able to get away with their crimes. I also, think if we want good priests we must support them with love, companionship and friendship. We have many lonely priests who need our loving support through platonic deep friendships so they remain healthy and emotionally stable.

I believe we raise our children not to get into strangers cars… why would we just follow a priest because he is a priest… As is common, we all must earn trust.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Perhaps the wording could have been better but I think we can get the main idea. Valid response too.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

O glorious Saint Therese,
whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and counsel mankind,
I implore your Miraculous Intercession.

So powerful are you in obtaining every need of body and soul
our Holy Mother Church proclaims you a “Prodigy of Miracles…
the Greatest Saint of Modern Times.”

Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition ***for all the Clergy
against the tide of distrust, ***and to carry out your promises of
spending Heaven doing good upon the earth…
of letting fall from Heaven a Shower of Roses.

Henceforth, dear Little Flower, I will fulfill your plea
“to be made known everywhere” and I will never cease
to lead others to Jesus through you.

Amen.

Our Lady queen of the Clergy, intercede for our beloved Pope Francis, Pope Emeritus Benedict, the Cardinals, Patriarchs, Metropolitans, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests and the Diaconate in Christ.

Saints John Marie Vianney and Peter Julian Eymard, intercede for them!

Remembering your intention in my daily prayers…holding all clergy close to my heart.

God bless! 🙂
