For Catholics: Say an Eastern Orthodox person says the Roman Catholic Church is in heresy because they have doctrine such as the Immaculate Conception

And that that wasn’t taught by the early church?

How would you respond?

Correct me if I’m wrong if an Eastern Orthodox person wouldn’t say such things.

The Immaculate Conception is Dogma, and then of course, doctrine.
All dogma is doctrine, but not all doctrine is dogma

Perhaps find out a little more about the 4 early Church heresies commonly cited, and how the Catholic Church
confessed truths in the councils and synods it held, where it discussed the heresies.

I Believe the Eastern Orthodox Church teaches the Immaculate Conception is redundant due to its concepts of original sin.

There are four heresies I know of in the early church - Gnostic , the Ebionite, judaizers, Arian

Apologetics started up way back then. The most prominent apologist was Justin Martyr. There should be info on all these on the net.
