Please pray for my BIL Mike who undergoes surgery Tuesday to remove half of one lung due to cancer. The other lung is hardly functioning due to scarring. Pray that he put down the cigarettes and makes it through this surgery successfully. Thank you and God bless you.
 
Saint Peregrine, Patron Saint of Cancer sufferers, Hear our prayers on this matter and intercede for us. We humbly pray.

Dear God. BilMike is having a very hard time. Smoking is a very hard addiction to give up and he is undergoing surgery. Please, God, guide the gentle hands of the nurses and doctors to bring him to full recovery. And God, please help him over come the cigarette addicition. I know firsthand how hard that can be. The addictions seem to take hold of us and not let go. Please help him get through this and give him andhis family peace and comfort.

Keeping your brother in law in prayer along with his surgeon and medical team - may the surgery be a success - and may The Lord grant him the strength and perseverance to give up the cigarettes. Keeping him in prayer.

I’m definitely praying for Mike’s surgery. My Dad died of lung disease so I can definitely understand your concerns, especially about the cigarettes. May his surgery go well and may he recover just as quickly. :signofcross:

Thank you for prayers offered. Surgery is over - had to take whole lung instead of half. He is really struggling. The other lung is scarred and damaged from emphysema. They told us yesterday when we were with him at ICU that it was “touch and go”. Last night at 11:00 they called to say they put him on a ventilator - he is not able to take enough oxygen on his own to prevent other oxygen related damage to his body. Please continue to pray for my bil and his wife. He mother just died 3 months ago and she is an only child and they have no children of their own. This is also very difficult for her, as you can imagine. God bless you.
