For preemie baby Amelia...needs surgery

Many of you have already prayed for Amelia, born at 25 1/2 weeks, and her mom, who suffered from severe preeclampsia. Amelia has been hanging in, but will need surgery today or tomorrow to close a PDA (patent ductus arteriosus, a sort of extra artery that is not needed after birth, and should close on its own; if not, lung damage can result.)

Please continue to pray for Amelia and her worried parents. This is serious, and recovery will be difficult in a baby so tiny. Thank you and God Bless.

Heavenly Father, please help this little baby in what ever ways she needs healing. Please be with her parents in a very special way. Help the doctors and nurses and all who assist in her medical care. In Jesus’ name.

Divine Physician, your mother is in the waiting room, wanting to talk to you about Amelia. You see, we’ve all been knocking on her door to come and talk to you, because Amelia’s mother is a mother like yours – who hurts for her baby, and worries for her child’s health. This is why we have confidence in you for Little amelia and her family. Guide the doctors and nurses, comfort her parents, and bring Amelia into good health to your glory, O Lord. Amen.

Father please continue to hold Amelia in Your loving care. Please help this timy baby to tolerate the surgery and to recover afterwards so that her lungs are saved and she continues to grow. Please continue to heal her mother, and give blessing and strength to her loving parents. Father we ask this in the name of Your own dear Son Jesus

Baby Amelia has just had her surgery, which went well. The PDA was quite large, so it is a good thing this has been done. Recovery will be a very scary time. Thanks to all of you who are praying for her; she even had a relative praying for her at Mass in St. Peter’s in Rome! Please keep the prayers coming.
