To all men and women discerning the religious life,

Is the temptation from the Evil One, greater now than you were a regular lay Catholic?

In my own experience it has been and the need for prayer and mediation is much needed.

I agree, i have also noticed that temptation has increased ever since i renewed my faith. Prayer and meditation is the only option, whenever i dont prayer for a day or two, i feel somewhat empty and and the feeling of temptation grows within my my mind to do immoral things. I now feel pity on those who do not prayer because prayer gives us the strength to resist all temptation.

We must pray for our brother and sisters who do not prayer, that God may give them the strength to resist the evil one and to obey the laws and commandments that were given to us. Let us prayer to St. Michael the Archangel for his intercession in times of need.

May the Blessed Mother pray for us, sinners, and also that she may lead us to her Son, Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen

.
Definately.

Temptation increases when one strives for holiness and purity, regardless of one’s state in life.

However, I think it is even more profound for Seminarians and Priests… The evil one does not want one to become a priest. He will do anything to stop you. Once you are a priest, he will do anything to destroy you, and will hasten his attacks even more… one reason why saying daily Mass as a Priest is so necessary, as well as saying the breviary every day, coupled with the Rosary.

I think I have to agree. First it makes a lot of sense because Satan prefers those who seek God. Second, I think I started feeling more, well, exposed lately. Few days ago I think I was under an attack to the point that I fell on the floor and begged God to stop it. Of course I don’t know what it was because it could have been just caused by the pressures I had to go through lately. Still, whatever it was, prayer is always good. Only if I wouldn’t feel so lazy and distracted sometimes. 😦

What a great quote! 👍

For me, when I entered formation, the temptations grew greater but as I preserved in prayer it has now gotten to be where I can handle it and am not bothered by it most of the time.

There are times when it gets rough, that is usually when I become discouraged for some reason.
