On a separate forum I have come accross this desperate request from the brother of a man dying of cirrhosis of the liver. I’m not sure why this prayer request has touched me so deeply, but my heart has been pricked and I am determined to contact as many prayer warriors as I can to pray specifically for the conversion of this dying man’s soul.

Here is his request:
My brother was just release from the hospital, they basically told him to go home and die. He has Alcoholic cirrhosis and they say there is nothing they can do. Please pray that God will give me and my family wisdom on what to do. Please pray that God will open his heart in these last few months of his life to accept His Salvation.

The doctor said his liver is completely gone. He already has the distended abdomen and legs, I guess his blood and other test were positively conclusive. He is very stubborn, according to my mom his doctor told him the need for God and he got extremely irritated. If he even listens to me about God it will be a miracle. It’s difficult to think of him going to Hell and to think of him already almost bed ridden and in pain. I have tried over the years to reach him with no success, but I won’t give up until his dying breath has been taken
This man is asking for a miracle. Who here truly believes in the power of prayer? Let’s get to work!!!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

O MOST MERCIFUL JESUS, lover of souls,
I beseech Thee, by the agony of Thy most Sacred Heart,
and by the sorrows of Thy Immaculate Mother,
wash clean in Thy Blood the sinners of the whole world
who are to die this day.

Remember most especially the soul I spiritually adopt
with the intention of entrusting him or her to Thy Shepherd’s care:
I beseech Thee for the grace to move this sinner, who is in
danger of going to Hell, to repent. I ask this because of my
trust in Thy great mercy.

If it should please Thy Majesty to send me a suffering this day
in exchange for the grace I ask for this soul, then, it, too,
shall please me very much, and I thank Thee, Most Sweet Jesus,
Shepherd and Lover of Souls; I thank Thee for this
opportunity to give mercy in thanksgiving for all the mercies
Thou hast shown me. Amen.

Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying.

Praying for this man’s health, recovery & salvation as well as for the intentions of his family.

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father,
I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity,
of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us
and on the whole world.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
Amen.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to his assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

This dying soul will be included in my daily rosary. God bless you.

Praying for your intention:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust down to hell, Satan and all the evil spirits who roam throughout the world, seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

Dear God, please have mercy on this man and heal his poor sick body and his sad, worried mind. Please Lord, have pity on his family and I ask that you give them the strength to deal with his and their pain and sorrow and place their trust in you. Amen.

Praying that the Lord may mercifully grant all necessary graces to this man.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Happy to report a couple updates from this man’s brother:
Thanks again for your continued support, I appreciate my brothers and sisters of all denominations.
It is interesting that my brother was initially told that he had 2 months by the 1st doctor that worked with him and that this was supported by his family doctor. We are approaching the two month mark and they now want him to go to rehab to see if he can get his legs to support his weight.
He even mentioned that they told him he’d have to be sober for 6 months before they could consider a liver transplant. He seems to realize the severity of his condition and he wants to try and fight to regain his health.
I’m not sure how this is going to work or what’s going to happen, but I know the God I serve and I know that only ultimate good comes from Him, no matter how we perceive the playing out of that good.
and then…
We are experiencing a small miracle! Just a few weeks ago my brother didn’t want anything to do with any type of rehab and on top of that he had no resources to help him get into anywhere.
As of a few hours ago he has agreed to go to a rehab facility and the resources to allow that have been supplied. His attitude is much better and he’s going to give me access to his medical records so I can help guide him thru this process.
I hear once that it takes a bigger miracle to change someones mind and heart than it does to part the red sea; God is Good!
What a testimony to the power of prayer and to God’s great mercy.

God has granted this small miracle, a conversion in this man’s physical condition. This, I believe, is to allow this man more time to respond to the bigger miracle… conversion of his soul.

Let’s continue to pray for the “bigger miracle”, that this man responds to his call to conversion…

URGENT UPDATE!!!

I was called first thing and was able to spend 8 hours in the er with him yesterday. I consider that a blessing! I also consider it a blessing that he will be having another team of doctors looking at him. I was talking to the resident that was examining him and she was willing to call me (hopefully today) with his latest MELD score. She also told him that he should consider talking to me about his final wishes because his brain could also succumb to his disease at any moment. He still seems to be only dealing with the present and is not able to look to far ahead, but he did seem to be able to understand what was said to him. I told him that “you have to be scared” and that it was OK to talk to me about what he was feeling and what he was thinking. All he said was “I am”, and that is another blessing, I feel that God is giving him some time to prepare himself and I have expectations of being able to talk to him about the things that really matter in life!
I urged him to find a pastor in the hosptial to speak with and pray over his brother. And assured him of ferverent prayers going out for him today.

Please continue to pray for the conversion of this dying man…
