For the conversion of an atheist

Hello, friends.

Yesterday, I ran into an atheist on Facebook. Even though he has many objections against the faith, he said he’s open to being convinced that God really does exist, if anyone would be willing to seriously discuss religion with him.

I stepped up to the challenge and now we are about to start a formal, private dialogue about the existence of God.

I don’t know that I have to be the one to convert him. However, I believe that the Lord has at least given me a chance to plant the mustard seed in this man’s heart. Please, pray that I’ll do a good job and that God will enlighten and guide our understanding during this dialogue. And ask St. Dominic and St. Thomas Aquinas to intercede for me; that I may be effective at this task of evangelization that is now in my hands.

Ask him how he was raised and when did he become an atheist.My daughter became one after her sweet husband was killed in Iraq.!! 7 yrs later she falls in love w a wounded warrior paralyzed in a wh ch.
He was shot in L2 the same year our beloved Jason was killed. He was an atheist since teenage.
Pray for ALanna and Chad.
Dear Lord give her the wisdom of Solomon as she takes on this task. Refer him to an apologist. Let him feel the love of Jesus in her notes.

Dear Tweedlealice,

Unfortunately, my atheist is currently ultra-busy and a little sick. Thus, he kindly requested that we hold off on that debate a little bit, till he’s feeling better and not so saturated.

This is good, though, as it gives me more time to prepare and polish my arguments. I’ve prayed to my Lord that He’ll use this illness for the sake of that man’s salvation and purification.

Of course, I’ll pray for your daughter and her fiancé! 😃 And thank you very much for your advice!

For some reason, 90% of the people who surround me are either atheists or bad Catholics. I care about everyone, and I want everybody to repent and convert before their time on this earth is up. So yes, the evangelization of atheists is a cause dear to me as well.
