While I was walking with my friend we started talking about Jesus and The Pharisees. I almost always have imagined myself as either rejecting or Hating Christ and realize now that I’m guilty of the sin of pride. I grumbled to my Friend about how hard it is to stay in a state where I’m truly walking with God and I began to get really upset. Now I feel like I’ve committed mortal sin and I’m upset and full of anxiety.
I don’t think I can love Christ more than everything, and any time I try to it results in bitterness and frustration. I need humility and I need God’s Grace.
 
Prayed for your intention in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
 
Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come
to You with humble trust, saying:
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities,
and temptations:
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness,
weariness, and trials:
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and
hopes, in disappointments,
troubles, and sorrows:

When others fail me,
and Your grace alone
can assist me:
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself
on Your tender Love
as a Father and Savior:
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast
down by failure, at seeing
no good come from my efforts:

When I feel impatient,
and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!

When I am ill, and my head and
hands cannot work and I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness,
falls, and shortcomings of every kind:
Jesus, help me and never forsake me. – Amen
 
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

How do you obey Christ’s call to discipleship? I read the gospels and I feel riddled with anxiety, even though I just went to confession. I don’t even know what God wants of me right now, just that I’m not committed enough and have no idea what to do about it.

Teach Us to Love

Lord, we thank You for all the love
that has been given to us, for the love
of family and friends, and above all

Failing them, we have failed You,

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
