Loving God,

We lift up our prayers and intentions today for the people who are suffering and are in great distress in Texas largely due to the hurricane, rain, and continued flooding. We ask for your mercy and care for them, and for courage and strength as they face another day of great challenges. It is often hard for people to understand why things like this happen, so please help them to maintain a strong faith and to witness to each other as sons and daughters of God. Please bless and keep the responders, fire personnel, police, medical personnel, faith communities, governmental personnel, and all who are providing shelter, food, water, and basic needs to this area. We love you and we ask for your light to shine on this difficult situation. Please help each of us to find something we can do to help as well, whether through volunteering, making donations, or sending up prayers.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, the Good Shepherd of your people.
