Jesus please have pity on the desperation that so many unemployed or under-employed, persons experience.
Have mercy regarding the serious issues for lives and relationships of those who have no reliable income. Please help families to survive economically and emotionally, when livelihoods are endangered or lost. Please help the unemployed to find reliable and sufficient work.

You lived among us and experienced the need for food, clothes and shelter, and saw the hard labor that Joseph undertook for You and Your dear Mother as you grew up, and perhaps subsequently, before Your public mission began, You carried on his trade to support You and Your Mother.

Later, when You went about teaching the gospel, You were supported by donations from the labors of others, so now, knowing that You personally appreciate the need for reliable income, in our lifetimes we ask You blessing, that those who are unemployed or under-employed will quickly find secure and satisfying work
.
Jesus please encourage an improvement in national economies so that unemployment issues and financial difficulties ease.

Pray that we may see Jesus in our poor brothers and
sisters and not judge by appearances; that we realize
that in helping them we are helping Jesus; and that we
will befriend them and not pass them by.

Father,
You have given all peoples one common origin. It
is Your will that we will be gathered one family. Fill

Heavenly Father we thank You for Your many blessings.

Especially for:
Giving us hope through the crucifixion and resurrection
of our Lord Jesus Christ that all people will be treated justly.
Instilling in us the love for all our neighbors and in all that
is good and right. Continuing to give us Your grace to live
and act with trust and faith in Your ultimate plan for all.

We pray that You will give us:
The acute awareness of the social justice issues such as:
Fair wages, equal housing, access to services, right to life,
corporal punishment, guardianship, rights of all individuals,
especially individuals who are disabled or aged.

The wisdom and courage to develop and implement public
policy that is sensitive to these issues and protect the health,
safety and dignity of all. A re-dedication to our desire and
commitment to stand up for those who cannot stand on their
own. Strength to be persistent in our daily interactions to see
others with the eyes of Christ and act accordingly.

And ultimately Almighty Father end to all injustice with
equality and freedom for all. In Jesus’ name, amen.

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Dear Saint Joseph, you were yourself once faced with the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look down with fatherly compassion upon me in my anxiety with my present inability to support my family. Please help me find gainful employment very soon, so that this great burden of concern will be lifted from my heart and that I am soon able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care. Help me guard against discouragement, so that I may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God.
