For the understanding of how to relate to Mary

Today was one of the best days Ive ever had and then I blew it. I finally had given myself to Mary and experienced a sense of freedom and consolation that accompanied throughout the day. Then I disobeyed Her by watching a movie with my Dad instead of praying the rosary and doing something else I needed to do. I managed to finish my work, but I still feel desolation.

When things like this happen, I don’t know how to bounce back. The desolation that results causes me to drift back to mediocrity, and I have no idea how to restore myself to the state of conversion I had lost. I think I’m relying too much on consolations and I need wisdom to discern what’s going on.

O Lady of Mental Peace,

to know that God’s Love

hello everyone. First of all I want to thank everyone for their prayers. By the grace of God, and the intercession of the Virgin Mary, I have been able to find relief from this tendency towards self hatred and scrupulosity. I just thought I should update everyone on this since I didn’t want them to think this was still happening.

I have found Mary to be an altogether perfect guide and Spiritual Mother, and have given myself to her more fully and have tried to listen to Her Promptings. There have been failures, but I have also discovered the self-flaggelating guilt that happened every time I came to God for forgiveness was also not from Him, and I thank Mary for Her intercession, for She has made this journey of Faith altogether more hope-filled.
