Ever since I have undergone my ordeal together with my friend, the writer in me, dormant for a long time, has been revived. I have written so many private works inspired by him; one of them is a particularly well-written piece extolling the virtues of good men. I long to publish it at a Catholic blog or other Catholic publications; what holds me back however is the fact that this is a quite private piece of work. My friend is okay with the possibility of it being published in spite of the fact that it is primarily for him (he is a very private person, like me); now, I am the one with doubts (to think I started off really wanting to publish the piece). Please do join me in prayer as I try to overcome my doubts and come to a decision. Should I decide to try to get it published, I pray for courage to accept both rejection and praise. I also pray that more appreciate the value of incorporating Catholic tradition in their lives.

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for me! I especially desire to emulate your clarity and simplicity of writing; may my work inspire others in their spiritual journeys as yours did! May the piece contribute to a more poetic dwelling in this world. Mary, Mother of God, pray for us all, writers or not!

Lord, please grant liturgy96 many graces and angelic counsel regarding this discernment issue about writing and publishing. See that if this work will benefit the kingdom, even if it is disguised with alternate names or places, that it will be published and read for the edification of souls by the power of your Spirit. Lead liturgy96 and all souls involved in this enterprise through the pitfalls of this fallen world and ever joyfully toward the eternal garden, with graces for faith, hope, love, and joy. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Maybe the opinion of some wise other persons (clerical and/or lay) can help you both discern.

This is usually the process if a large outlay in money is needed - e.g agent, editors, publisher.

In addition persons with insights into the subject matter and likely readership can help one knock it into shape prior to any approaching of publishing professionals or posting on the web.

Every writer’s friend must become public. Every writer writes about personal experiences, although the names of persons might be changed.

What is there to fear? Your friend can only write about what he knows about or the written piece would be of no value.

Courage! You and your twin must forge ahead! Every written piece can be encouraging if helped along by the Holy Spirit.

Maybe we have triplets here??!

Angel of God, my Guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Acordaos (Memorare)
Acordaos, ¡oh piadosísima Virgen María!,
que jamás se ha oído decir
que ninguno de los que han acudido
a vuestra protección,
implorando vuestro auxilio,
antes bien, escuchadlas
y acogedlas benignamente.

Que allí donde haya odio, ponga yo amor;
Donde haya ofensa, ponga perdón;
Donde haya discordia, ponga unión;
Donde haya error, ponga verdad;
Donde haya duda, ponga fe;
Donde haya desesperación, ponga esperanza;
Donde haya tinieblas, ponga vuestra luz;
Donde haya tristeza, ponga yo alegría.

¡Oh, maestro!
Que no me empeñe tanto
en ser consolado como en consolar;
en ser comprendido como en comprender;
en ser amado como en amar,
pues dando, se recibe,
olvidando, se encuentra,
perdonando, se es perdonado,
muriendo, se resucita a la vida eterna.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen

Let Nothing Disturb You

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:

Road Ahead
"My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road,
……though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost
……and in the shadow of death. I will not fear,
……for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me
……to face my perils alone.
