Peace be with you,

Here is a quote from allaboutscience.org/evolution-of-man.htm

Evolution Of Man - The Scrutiny
The theory concerning the evolution of man is under increased scrutiny due to the persistence of gaps in the fossil record, the inability to demonstrate “life-or-death” determining advantageous genetic mutations, and the lack of experiments or observations to truly confirm the evidence for speciation. Overall, the evolution of man pervades as the accepted paradigm on the origin of man within the scientific community. This is not because it has been proven scientifically, but because alternative viewpoints bring with them metaphysical implications which go against the modern naturalistic paradigm. Nevertheless, a closer examination of the evidence reveals evolution to be increasingly less scientific and more reliant upon beliefs, not proof.

Here the writer states that science still accepts the ‘evolution of man’ theory. What does he mean by the ‘metaphysical implications’.

Do you believe that the bible holds scientific knowledge that we were not aware of? Take for example, “The Star of Bethlehem”. A scientific approach to explain the supernatural event of the birth of Our Lord. The Bible recounts unusual, or even impossible astronomical events at Christ’s birth. For many doubters, the account of the Star is easily dismissed as myth. For many believers, it’s a mystery accepted on faith. But what happens if we combine current historical scholarship, astronomical fact and an open mind? You can watch this documentary; this is part 1. youtube.com/watch?v=KRk4ZBCxO3s&feature=related

Psalms 19:1-6
The heavens show forth the glory of God, and the firmament declares the work of his hands. 3 Day to day utters speech, and night to night shows knowledge. 4 There are no speeches nor languages, where their voices are not heard. 5 Their sound has gone forth into all the earth: and their words unto the ends of the world. 6 He has set his tabernacle in the sun:
I think it was St. Augustine who first said that the Bible does not teach us how the heavens go but how to go to Heaven.

The Bible does not teach scientific facts. Furthermore, The Old Testament especially teaches the Divine message in the the context of the pre-scientific cosmology of the ancient near east.

And I must disagree with your quotes as to the status of evolution theory. It sounds more like wishful thinking on the part of some anti-evolutionists, when in fact the evidence for the basic theory of evolution has never been stronger, especially with a confluence of scientific evidence coming in from independent and various natural sciences.

As a matter of fact, speciation has been scientifically proven beyond doubt. That is, species are instrumental in the production of new species. This is the fundamental strong point of evolution theory. Whatever the current weaknesses in evolution theory, speciation has been irrefutable proven, and thus the hypothesis or belief in special creation of each species is thereby conclusively disproved. The current observable fact of what is called “ring species”, such as in the case of the herring gull, remains irrefutable evidence for speciation.

Note that both Pope John Paul II and Benedict the XVI have been supportive of a properly conceived theistic version of evolution.
