Hi there!

I want to receive a formal training in Catholic Apologetics. I have searched courses/trainings in my country (UK) but have just found one that is Catholic, from Maryvale, in Birmingham UK. However it is far from home. My only option is then to do a certificate/course online.

I found a course given by New Saint Thomas institute, in the US and another by The Envoy Institute, in the US too. The latter however seems dead (last event from 2013; last twitter activity in 2015). (sorry, cannot post links)

I wonder:
  1. are you aware of the online courses above? Are they good enough?
  2. do you know of other courses?
  3. general recommendations?
Why a formal course and not just online self-teaching? Partly to impose discipline, and partly because a structured course is more likely to be well designed than my own research. Also, it might come handy to have some form of formal title. You never know.

Thanks!
Perico.

PS: I found old forum posts about this but they do not answer my questions. (again, sorry, cannot give links)

You might be better served with a degree in theology rather than apologetics.

Its eadier gor a theogian to be an apologetic than for an apolgetic to become a theologian.
