It will be a personal preference, in the long run. BibleGate Way shows scripture verses from different Bible forms. If you join the Bible study at the church, you’re interested in, they will recommend the one they are using for study. Bibles do not need to be Blessed b/c they are the word of God and power. As you mature, you’ll want to cross reference. As Catholics we have extra books more than the KJV. They are called DEUTERCANIOCAL BOOKS. They were in the Hebrew Bible/scrolls. TORAH. Anyway. Some were read by Jesus in the Temple. When Constantine was compiling our Bible, a council was called. Forget which one. Anyway, they prayed over the task and asked God’s guidance on which books to include. Some felt the extra books were not Holy Spirit inspired. We felt they were. In fact, I gave a scripture to a Baptists ministers wife, who was distraught w him dying from cancer. It wasn’t pleasant. Wisdom Chapter 3. It comforted her and she had it printed in the memorial booklet being distributed.
Aramaic goes to Greek, goes to Latin
(St. Jerome-the Vulgate). Then, the Germans got in there w the English w St. James.
Bible translators study the writings of old, Greek and Latin. Forgot Hebrew w Aramaic time.
The scholars are of main stream religions, including Rabbis for accuracy. Those are better for accuracy. The newest Catholic has cross references w the Dead Sea scrolls. I just bought one. I own 5 Bibles. Jack Hayford is a Pentecostal minister in Van Nuys, Ca. He is a great teacher w Holy Spirit insights. His Bible is hard to read b/c the verses are on half the page and cross references to various Bibles are printed on the bottom half of page.

His is not Catholic. All mainline Bibles are the same x for our extra books. KJV is nice to read for its poetic format. Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepard. I shall not want…

John 3:16. John 10:10 is the same, etc.
Anyway, being a Newby is exciting. Scripture leaps off the pages and seals in your heart. Later, as we mature, we have to work a little harder. HMMM
Anyway, check w that prayer group in a Catholic Church. As you mature, you’ll be looking for cross referencing. A good Bible is one written on a dog eared corners. Get a Bible carrying case. You can buy dividers to tape on the various books. If pages tolerate a high lighter, that’s helpful. Otherwise, you can use colored pencils that won’t bleed through.
