I was accepted into the Catholic Church in 2009 after a lifetime in the Church of England. From being a very small child, I felt absolutely drawn to the True Church…I remember being a guest at a Catholic confirmation at the age of six and thinking, “I wish that was me!” As a teenager, I would finish school and sneak into the Catholic cathedral in my city before the bus home. Something (the Holy Spirit) was tugging at my heart. I come from a staunchly Protestant home, and although I progressed in that church and was eventually confirmed, I knew in my heart something wasn’t right.
When I was on holiday in France some years ago, I went with my daughter and sat to pray outside the Catholic Church in Dieppe. A man sat beside me with his little granddaughter and, in broken language, he said to me, “Catholic. Go with God”. He looked me in the eyes and pointed at the church…so I knew, when I went home to England, I must go forward and seek the Church.
I have been attacked in this world and by the spiritual world. The latter is the worst, but at all times we have the protection of our Heavenly Father…I have no fear now.
I pray for everyone here and wish you peace always.
