It is my view, this program is against those that do not agree with the American Church’s political leanings and have little to do with matters of the Faith.

There are many good prayer resources on the USCCB website. There’s one for a Holy Hour - designed for Benediction with a priest, but I’m going to print a copy to take to Adoration with me this afternoon and use the prayers there. :gopray:

I disagree. We are not using politics to force anyone else not to provide contraception, or even abortion, although we do protest against abortion (which to me is not a political issue; it’s a human rights issue). Yes, the Church does have an interest in the politics of our nation, and this is why. It does have to do with our faith and persecution of it, our beliefs.
 
And if you take a deeper look there is proof that what is being done isn’t just some relativistic one-size-fits-all thing that could be turned around. People are being forced to go against their consciences and religious beliefs in an overt and blatant way:

Also check out the “Litany for Liberty” on the site - as I was praying that this afternoon in Adoration, it struck me that what we’re asking for is to be able to continue to do the good we have always been able to do, without having to sign a pact with the devil to do it! :banghead:

So Catholics in your area is being forced to use birth control, have forced abortions, or forced into same-sex marriages? :eek:

No; but they are being forced to provide for those things for their employees, which is not in line with our beliefs. It’s because of the new HHS mandate.

Pretty sure that we won’t stop praying and believing, and trying to effect change. And you should read the above links; it’s not just about same sex marriage, friend.
 
I am so happy you are talking about this subject. We all need to raise our minds and hearts in prayer for this problem and ask the Holy Spirit to lead us into the action we should take.

Our Church has a lengthy prayer posted in back of the hymnal, which we say every day at daily Mass. We also have a whole “Freedom” Litany that we say after the Divine Mercy Chaplet every day. Prayer can move mountains and this is a Big Mountain that needs to be dealt with and removed.

We need more Churches and individual people to pray. We need to be ONE more than ever right now. I count on Jesus’ prayer for us right now, “That they may be ONE Father…”

Regardless, we need to pray for our country and for our persecuted Church everyday!

In reissuing this bulletin, CMS is not changing the substance of the temporary enforcement safe harbor policy; it is only extending the safe harbor to encompass plan years beginning on or after August 1, 2013, and before January 1, 2014.

Ummm… I’m sure you meant St.John the Baptist, not St. John Fisher, who was an English martyr of the same era as St. Thomas More.

Neither employers, nor group health plans, nor group health insurance issuers will be subject to any enforcement action by the Departments for failing to cover some or all of the recommended contraceptive services without cost sharing in non-grandfathered group health plans established or maintained by an organization, including a group or association of employers within the meaning of section 3(5) of ERISA, (and any group health insurance coverage provided in connection with such plans) meeting all of the following criteria:

With respect to the second criterion above, the following exception applies. A health plan will be considered not to have provided all or the same subset of the contraceptive coverage otherwise required if it took some action to try to exclude or limit such coverage that was not successful as of February 10, 2012. Accordingly, such coverage will not disqualify an employer, a group health plan, or a group health insurance issuer from eligibility for the safe harbor. To qualify, the organization must certify that it (or its plan or its issuer) took some action before February 10, 2012, to try to exclude from coverage under the plan some or all contraceptive services because of the religious beliefs of the organization, but that, subsequently, such contraceptive services were covered under the plan despite such action. Section IV describes the specifications for the certification.
Any employer that potentially qualifies for the religious employer exemption may, if eligible, opt to invoke the temporary enforcement safe harbor. Doing so would not preclude the employer from later invoking the exemption, if eligible.

It is still very confusing. According to the criteria, does Catholic schools, hospitals, charities meet the criteria to postpone until Jan. 1, 2014 to buy some time for fighting??

The “Fortnight” has to continue even it officially ends on July 4. Prayer is our only hope. We must pray for our country and our Church everyday!
