I don’t know about quantum physics but there is one of these churches near my home and they preach the gospel of hatred on a regular basis. Their people take notice of it I can assure you. Our teens are regularly bombarded by them at school.

A quote from their great pastor, “Catholics are going to hell!”
…Technically, that is a true statement.

Ugh. This website is almost new agey, but, worse. It’s like, if Shirley MacLaine was a Fundamentalist.

I attend a Four Square Church. There is no Catholic hating or any other sort of hate preaching going on.
I should not have painted with such a broad stroke, sorry.

All I see here in my world is a preached gospel of hate. It is evident is the people both adult and teens who attend this particular worship center.

I work mostly in youth ministry, and our teen prayer meetings have turned into apologetic classes for them to be able to better defend their beliefs. Some of these teens I work with have been all but physically attacked by some of these “Christians”.

One instance one of the kids was invited to his best friend’s house where about 15 other kids waited for him and surrounded him with their swords, you know the you worship Mary and all the untruths of the Catholic faith. He handled it as well as anyone could, he politely said see you later and left without incident; he has since changed some of his friends.

There was a party for Halloween that their teens and some others participated in too. It was a “Catholic” party. People dressed up as priests and nuns and made fun of everything Catholic; most disturbing was the mockery of the Eucharist by handing out cheezits and saying, “the body of Christ”. BTW, some of these at the party were Catholic kids who have been going to this local church, so the influence is evident.

Honest question for you, does the origin of this church bother you, or the founder? I would say that it would bother me; but hey, to each his own. Good day to you!

Nope, doesn’t bother me. Jesus was the perfect one, the Apostles on the other hand were not. But then I guess my own testimony would also “bother” people.

Yeah, I have to be honest here. My brother-in-law and his wife are both VERY active in their four square church. Both are well aware that I am catholic and neither has ever mentioned anything about it. My husband and I have even gone to watch my brother-in-law’s band play at their church. 🤷
I suspect any Catholic-hating that happens is on a church by church, and parishoner by parishoner level.

Doesn’t bother me a bit! Let’s hear it.🙂

No offence, but I thought the 4 square gospel church was founded by a con artist in the 1920’s who faked her own kidnapping?

Jesus didn’t found this church.

There is his story, her story and the true story. Could Sister Aimee have had an affair and got caught like that southern governor a few months back? Its possible, it doesn’t change the gospel message or her gift in spreading it.

Yes I agree, and I was worried you would think I was being disrespectful; which I wasn’t. I have done some research into this denomination and these irregularities would be a stumbling block for me to follow this tradition. But not a stumbling block to believing and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I appreciate the way you took my very blunt question no matter how rude it appeared; most would have fired right back even though it was an honest question on my part.

I guess we always come back to the topic of tradition. I believe the apostles, for the most part got it right. How do you question their tradition and change directions so deep into the game of the salvation of mankind? Where do you go for information that states the tradition you follow now is the “truth?”

To the OP’s topic, I think there was an illusion to the uncontrolled aspect of the faith. There must be parameters to protect the deposit of faith, don’t you think? If this person is a minister within this denomination, she or he must be within the guidelines of what this denomination professes to be truth and proper, correct?

Lapey,

Apparently there is no accountability or oversight in that communion for any actions an ordained takes.

You got in touch with a supervisor, what did he/she say? All I can say is since the author described herself as being ordained and not as a pastor she probably is not in active ministry or the pastor of a local church. And since she also claims ordination with Vineyard Fellowship that is against the Foursquare rules, There was a problem when Pastor Barnett of the Dream Center an AoG outreach took over as Senior Pastor at Angelus Temple and both Foursquare and the Assemblies of God claimed Angelus Temple as one of their churches.

She broke the rules as an ordained person in the foursquare gospel church?

Why hasn’t the forsquare gospel church made a public statement that dissasociates themselves from her unless she is acting in full accord with their beliefs?

They ordained her after all.

What is a dream center? This is something I never heard of before.

Thank you for answering, I do appreciate your imput as a member.

So, you are all jewels. They are coming down from the sky now too.

Quantum physics is being dragged into this, and somehow I get the impression this woman is totally clueless about it.
hi my friend. i guess the protestants dont want to be left out of the new age movement. 15 years ago this would have been condemned. but like so much of these practices, its just one more creeping into some of the sectors of the christian faith. 🤷

I doubt that the administration of the church does a constant google search looking for “error” said in its name. And once ordained is an impossible standard, many are ordained right after grad school with little life experience except church and school. Many people later quit the faith, change denominations, get caught in crimnal activities and covering up for brothers caught in criminal activities. The villian in the Three Musketeers was a Cardinal, it happens all the time. Clergy are people first, even if hands were once laid upon them failure on all levels is possible.

I remember when I first became a Christian and got on the internet on google boards there was a guy who on every mention of Foursquare would post a story about a Foursquare youth pastor who his wife had an affair with. That man probably still calls himself pastor. In many ways its a title. Like Lt Colonel Ollie North was run out of the USMC in shame because of his actions for the Reagan White House yet is still referred to as Col North.

The Dream Center is a missionary outreach and resident consuling center run out of what once was the Queen of Angels hospital in the Echo Park and downtown Los Angeles areas. Jim Bakker of PTL infamy spent time there after his release from prison. Off of the strength of that outreach and his father’s reputation as a preacher Barnett did gain a broadcast on Christian TV. In my opinion he is a poor stand up preacher, his father and brother are much better but from that show he brought name recognition when a search was made for a Senior Pastor for Angelus Temple. Megachurches survive on the name factor of their senior pastors in my opinion.

👍 BINGO! we have a winner:D
Why thank you!!

You know, I had to meditate on this a little bit today, but, early this morning (between midnight and one?), I was watching Fr. Corapi and he was talking about how to polish a stone. One polishes a stone by irritating its surface. That’s why God places us with certain people, it’s to better us. The allusion made me think of this, “We are all gems…” malarky.
