Servant of God Fr.John Hardon hits the nail on the head in this teaching linked below. . I am not sure when he wrote this but it had to be before 2000. Now Marxism has gotten worse, and boy can we see it right in front of our eyes. Same sex marriage, gender equality, taking God out of our education and public life. All because of materialism. Utopia on earth. Forget about heaven, forget about God. Marxism is more materialistic than even nasty capitalism. The nasty capitalist keeps all the profit for himself while the Marxist purposely destroys morals killing the soul of all who fall for the bait. Neither are good but atleast there can be some forms of decent capitalism. Not so with marxism. Instead of looking up to God and authority rugged individualism has taken over.

The copyright on the piece is 2003.

There is this:

“In the light of what we have just seen, can anyone doubt that the United States has been deeply infected by Marxism. However, I believe we can say even more. Our country is a Marxist nation, Dare I say still more? The United States of America is the most powerful Marxist country in the world.”

Reading through the article, the extent to which the U.S. has adopted Marxist notions is quite remarkable. The more that nations reject God, the more they adhere to Marxism. We’ve come a long way. And I don’t mean that as a compliment.

Does anyone know what Marxism is? Hint, it is not the various form of degenerate and libertine liberalism that conservatives complain about.

Why is it still taboo to say that Stalin was great man who industrialized the CCCP if Marxism is influential?

No, we do not live in a Marxist dystopia, but in capitalist dystopia. I hope one would be reasonable enough to ask himself whether Marxism is prevalent in an economically inegalitarian society, with the United States being the preeminent military power of the world.

So what is this “materialism” that conservatives rail against? One certainly needs material goods and food to survive and flourish, and being deprived of that would lead to penury.
In order to do some justice to a gigantic subject, let me just choose two of the fifteen hallmarks of Marxism, and see how deeply they have penetrated American society. I focus on the emancipation of women and the denial of parental rights in education.
So he only picked two traits that he delineated as a part of “Marxism” and argues that on the basis of those two criterion (out of 15) the US is “Marxist”.

This from Fr. Hardon introduces his article:

“On a personal note, I should say that I began reading Karl Marx at the age of fourteen. I have taught graduate courses in Marxism; and have given lectures in Moscow on two lengthy occasions. Most personally, members of my own family have died under Communism in the profession of their Catholic faith.”

He probably could have written 100 pages on this if he wanted to.

A country can be both marxist and capitalist. Isn’t China hybrid communist/capitalist?

Marxism is complete control of a nations economy run by the state, so America is not Marxist.

The same reason people don’t credit Fascism for the rapid recovery of Germany’s and Italy’s economy.

I wouldn’t directly blame capitalism for my nation’s societal woes, capitalism has brought us great wealth unfortunately from this wealth has spawned decadence, apathy, and overall degeneracy older generations weren’t always this way probably the last one to embody American ideals was “The Greatest Generation” they had arguably more wealth than are current generation but they were also morally sound.

I do not agree with Communism/Marxism but a communist from the 1940s is 1000 times more tolerable than the current occupy Wall Street, SJW, radical feminist, subhuman that has infested college campuses the country over.

That’s why I like living in a capitalist nation you don’t have to stand in line for shoes.

I completely agree America is not Marxist.

So the US is under some developmental Đổi Mới or NEP under a social government?

But is the political system even nominally socialist?

The National Socialist regime used some Keynesian measures to revitalized their economy, but the Soviet Union industrialized their country from the ground up. The policies in Germany were successful in getting Germany out of the depression. Period. It has nothing to do with the Holocaust.

The socialist economies were the victims of Western sanctions and military pressures. Moreover, they were ravaged by the effects of WWII (and other wars such as the Korean War and Vietnam) and had an initial lower level of development.

I am interested in testing this.

What do you think of Harpal Brar? Is he more tolerable than the " occupy Wall Street, SJW, radical feminist, subhuman that has infested college campuses"?

(RIP Iris Cremer who was introducing Harpal Brar)

The USA is certainly not a Marxist nation. It’s ridicules to say it is. We have a form of capitalism that could use some serious tweeking.

German recovery post WWII? Marshall plan.👍
