Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J.!

Hello all, I love Jesuit history and well was educated by a well known New York area Jesuit Uviversity, and has some great Jesuits as teachers. I since am so interested in things such as the Jesuit Constitutions, Jesuit Obedience, JESUIT SAINTS!! ABOVE ALL, and well also some great Jesuits such as Fr. Vincent Miceli, S.J., Fr. John Hardon, S.J., and well Karl Rahner. What do you guys think of Fr. Karl Rahner??? I know some ULTRA conservatives don’t like him for some reason, and I heard he later fell in some ways into relativism. However, If i am correct, Pope John Paul II once highly admired him together with Cardinal De Lubac, S.J. whom this POPE made Cardinal.
Please give me more insight into Rahner,I wish to know if I should really follow his ideas.
P.S. I love Cardinal Avery Dulles too!! He is great and I geard he is NOW pretty conservative.🙂

Here’s the way the above quote should have read:
I know some ULTRA conservatives don’t like him for COUNTLESS reasons, and I heard he later BECAME MIRED in COUNTLESS ways into relativism and other forms of HETERODOXY.

Okay, maybe or maybe not you are right. BUT, WHY??? What, when, where, and Why?
 
I found Rahner really boring. I think he’s a little too modern for me. I’ll take John Paul II and von Balthasar over him any day. Von Balthasar at least tries to incorporate Patristic thought in his work. As far as de Lubac, I find him boring (like most ressourcement theologians except Guardini and sometimes Ratzinger). I do like his book “The Mystery of the Supernatural.” I lean towards Fr. Brian Mullady’s view, but I still like that book.
 
Hey, Mis, luv ya, but wish you would learn to tap the ? and ! keys instead of leaning your elbow on them. I wonder if some of these so-called theologians mellow out with age or if they get entrenched in their errors. Dulles started out problematic, but has publicly stated why, when and how he returned to orthodox Church teaching. Go to Catholic Exchange today and look at the discussion on Gaudiam et Spes, and the group that hammered it out.

By the way, I also Love Fr. Francisco Suarez, S.J. And I love THOMISTIC philosophy and theology.
