Mark Shea’s blog reported tonight that Fr. Rob Johansen (known for his blog “Thrown Back”) has had a heart attack and “may not make it”. Prayers would be appreciated.
Omnipotent and eternal God,
the everlasting Salvation of those who believe,
hear us on behalf of Thy sick servant, Fr. Johansen,
for whom we beg the aid of Thy pitying mercy,
that, with his bodily health restored,
he may give thanks to Thee in Thy church.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Fortunately, it turned out that the person who emailed Mark Shea about this was mistaken. Fr. Johansen is perfectly well. And amused.
However, it never hurts to pray for someone – and who knows how God has used our prayers? Maybe Fr. Johansen needed them in some other way… Also, it’s good that Father should know how much his friends care about him, even the remote acquaintances on the Internet.
