Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen. †

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle,
be our defense against the wickedness and snares
of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the
power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other
evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen. † :signofcross: :blessyou:

A little over a week ago, I slipped on some black ice and broke my wrist and forearm. It’s the second fracture I’ve had in my life, but I’m 15 years older this time! It’s really tough for me doing ordinary chores, let alone going to work and suffering some pain. I know there are much more serious concerns in the world, but if you can say a little prayer so that the fracture heals properly, I would greatly appreciate it. G-d bless you all.

I pray that your wrist would heal properly. I pray that your needs would be met while it is healing. I pray that you would not be in pain. Amen. :signofcross:

A few years back, one of my neighbors slipped on the ice on his very steep but short driveway while attempting to remove the ice with a shovel. He had one of the worst breaks the attending surgeon had ever seen and for a while they wondered if he would have permanent damage.

Also, because of some painkillers he had taken just before he went out and slipped, and some food he had eaten, he had to wait six hours before they could begin the operation to repair all of the damage. Pins and so forth had to be put in, compound fractures fixed, etc.

It was I who had to call his wife at her job and tell her the bad news, and it was I who kept my neighbor company until the fire department arrived.

After everybody (my neighbor, the firemen, etc.) had gone to the hospital, I dealt with his driveway by salting it. Later, he said that that was the smart way to do things and from then on he would forgo shovels and other tools and just use kitty litter* (for traction) and salt as I had done.

*it was the old non-clumping kind, the gravelly stuff . . .

Anyway, onward to the prayers:

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, amen.

**Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
enlighten our minds to perceive the mysteries
of the universe in relation to eternity.

Spirit of right judgment and courage,
guide us and make us firm in our baptismal decision
to follow Jesus’ way of love.

Spirit of knowledge and reverence,
help us to see the lasting value of justice
and mercy in our everyday dealings with one another.

May we respect life
as we work to solve problems of family and nation,
economy and ecology.

Spirit of God,
spark our faith,
hope and love into new action each day.

Fill our lives with wonder and awe
in your presence which penetrates all creation.

Amen. **
