Believe it or not, the beginning of Lent (Ash Wednesday, February 13) is not all that far away. NOW is the time to start planning an Lenten Scripture study for your small faith group, your family or for yourself.

On my website (linked below) you will find everything you need to plan for and begin a simple Lenten Scripture Study based on the Sunday readings. Many people who used the studies for previous Lents and Advents have told me how helpful they found them, especially in small faith sharing groups in parishes and other settings.

A handfull of us meet twice a month to read the following weekends gospel and to pray about it and see what it means to each of us. Only been doing it for a couple of weeks

That sounds great. I hope you’ll consider incorporating my humble Scripture study into your gatherings. It’s great to have at least a little background before you start your discussion, and the questions may help stimulate conversation as well. Here is the study for this coming Sunday:

I do a weekly Bible study but I am thinking of starting a seperate one at my parish during Lent. Thank You ,this is great!
 
Yay, I am so glad I saw this! I was supposed to be thinking of something to do for Lent study and give ideas tomorrow for a small group in our parish. I did not have any idea, but I think this would be great! Thanks!

Hard to believe, but Lent is coming up fast–Ash Wednesday is this coming Wednesday. It’s not too late to put together a Lenten Scripture study.

This Sunday is the 1st Sunday of Lent-- still not too late to start a Lenten Bible study!
