Here are my some of my favorite FREE Catholic audio downloads.
(Besides all the great show archives here at Catholic Answers)
EWTN has so many programs archived besides the ones I mentioned.
Does anyone else have any links to free audio downloads that I didn’t mention?
Both Catholic and Protestant audio links are welcome.

1:Answering Common Objections
Scott Hahn
Scott Covers 5 topics (The Pope, Purgatory, Mary, The Saints, and The Eucharist) in which he uses scripture, the Church fathers, Catholic and Protestant scripture scholars to defend these topics.

2: Our Father’s Plan
Scott Hahn and Jeff Cavins
Bible history is covered in this 13-session program series.
He explains the covenants made by God and how they were expanded each time, Starting with a marriage with Adam and Eve, a family with Noah, a tribe with Abraham, a nation with Moses, a kingdom with David, and a universal kingdom with Jesus.

3: The Lamb’s Supper
Scott Hahn and Mike Aquilina
The relationship between the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Book of Revelation is covered in this 13- session. You will never look at Mass the same again.

4: Pope Fiction
Patrick Madrid
Patrick examines the myths and misconceptions of the papacy in this 16 session series

5: Search And Rescue
Patrick Madrid
Patrick Madrid gives tips on how to bring non-Catholics into the Church and bring fallen-away Catholics back into the Church.

6: Apologetics - Bible Christian Society
John Martignoni
John gives lessons in apologetics in these downloads, my favorite is “Catholics and the Bible”, which teaches about Bible interpretation.

7: Peter Kreeft Lectures
Peter Kreeft
Peter had many lectures available for download, I like “Arguments For God’s Existence.

8: The Truth
Father Larry Richards
You can order his CD’s for free (a $1.00 donation for shipping) at catholicity.
For newer versions of his talks -
You can download “The Truth” for free if you register on his web site.
(You can order his other CD’s for a low price at the site)
The Truth, The Mass Explained and Confession are great CD’s!

9: Thru the Bible
Dr. J Vernon McGee
Though J Vernon McGee was a Protestant, I have always enjoyed his show, I don’t know if it is voice or what?

For those downloads which are in the “real audio” format I use Akram audio converter to convert from real audio to MP3 so I can listen away from my computer, there is other software that does this but this is the one that I use.

Okay, how do I make these downloads something I can play in my cd player in my van. Right now I can only listen on computer.

Sorry to double-post, for some reason it won’t let me edit my previous post.

Anyway, I was just thinking about the morality of downloading and converting those files into mp3 format. Some of them there doesn’t seem to be a problem (John Martignoni’s and Dr. Kreeft’s files) but most of the files are available only through EWTN, which has a Terms of Use policy:

One should contact EWTN before downloading and modifying the files in order to assure that it’s not immoral to do:

I emailed EWTN and they sent me the following message:

If it is for private use only there is not a problem.
I am sure you have also been to the Podcast page of EWTN - www.ewtn.com/podcast
You can find new monthly programs there as well already in MP3 format. Just download them and burn them.

the audio converter that I use to convert real audio to either mp3 or wave is akram audio converter, but it is not a free program, but it works very well.
akramsoft.net/

I also emailed EWTN about it and got the exact same reply. I’m sure Mr. Burson is wondering why the “flood” of emails asking the same thing are coming in today.

I hope he doesn’t get to many, or he might change his mind.
Now does personal use include my selling them for a personal profit?
Just joking.
If anyone else has a link to any other audio downloads that they have enjoyed, I’d really like to listen to them.

I also use audacity (a audio editing program) to edit the audio programs.
I had to cut the intro and exit music on answering common objections to get them to fit onto 5 CD’s. Audacity is an open source program that is a freeware, and very good.

I can second Audacity. Open source programs are the place to be.

Anyway, to add to the fun collection of free audio files:

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Fr. Thomas Nelson, O.Praem.: Myths and Misconceptions Concerning Vocations
PhilVaz’s audio links
Contraception: Why Not? - Dr. Janet Smith
Dr. Smith vs. Fr. Curran - Contraception Debate
Various Programs on the Early Church Fathers by Mike Aquilina
Monthly Specials from EWTN (Scroll toward the bottom)

I think that’s all the links I know of. If anything else comes up I’ll be sure to add it.

When the original post says free downloads I assume that it was “moral” to download. Silly me!

Does anyone have anything by Fr. John Corapi? That man is a giant.

Is there a free program that converts realaudio files to mp3? The first one listed in this thread doesn’t seem to be available anymore.

I heard SoundCapture by Magisofts is a nice little program that records whatever is played on your soundcard and saves it as an mp3.

What I was worried about is the Real Audio files. Real Player doesn’t actually download them, it just streams them. Downloading and modifying those files were the concern here.

Most of Corapi’s talks have to be paid for.

However, there are a few around that can be downloaded including those at this site:

ftp://217.160.246.215/pub/audionet/

There are a lot of shows and talks by different people there as well as a few audio books. Just browse the folders and download.
