I came across this link only recently and have been using it for a week of so. It is great stuff for all parents who have concerns about letting their children surf the net.

I was paying €5 a month for filtering software with my ISP, but being free and offering good protection is a real double whammy and great peace of mind.

Try it yourselves at www1.k9webprotection.com/

I have this installed and it is pretty good. But never depend on software alone. The computer should be in a public area and you should monitor it’s use.

I’m mainly worried about inadvertant links right now so I tried a bunch of sites and I couldn’t find anything objectional.

I’ve been using this for a while, and recommended it on a few threads recently, as do many of the Security Engineers I know as many corporations rely on Blue Coat for the content filtering.

It’s free and it works however there is no 64bit version yet so if you have a brand new PC you will need to check to see which version of Windows you are running.
