I’ve been thinking of going with Sirius for some time now since they carry EWTN. Last night I found out they had a promotion running where you can select between two receivers and, with a new subscription to their service, they are free. I signed up for a quarterly subscription for $38.75 and there were no shipping charges or taxes. The annual subscription is $142.45 and qualifies for a $30 rebate, but I also read that they are terrible at losing rebate requests.

You can go to home.sirius.com/webDUWI/HomePage.aspx and enter in promotion code 106. I picked the Sportster reeiver at the suggestion of a friend while some others on a forum were suggesting the Starmate. They both need a docking station to be used in the home. You can also use your subscription to listen to the channels online, even if someone is using the receiver in the car at the same time.

For a forum dedicated to Sirius, go to siriusbackstage.com/forum/.

Hope this is helpful/useful information.

I’ve been thinking about getting satalite, too, because of EWTN, but I don’t want another monthy bill just yet. Does Catholic Answers come in on any satalite stations?

This offer is now dead even though it was supposed to run through 4/2. Guess it was very popular and they were overwhelmed.

MooCowSteph: I don’t think you can find Catholic Answers on any free satellite network. You can always listen to it online or download the audio file and listen to it later. There is software available to convert their Real Audio files into MP3 files which can be played on some car systems.

That’s what i’ve been trying to do. If you know of a program that’ s free, I’d live to have the link.
