I was reading an article on Wikipedia about neuroscience and free will and I found a very interesting discussion about the effect of transcranial magnetic stimulation on choice of individual. Here is a quote from the article:
Right-handed people would normally choose to move their right hand 60% of the time, but when the right hemisphere was stimulated they would instead choose their left hand 80% of the time (recall that the right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for the left side of the body, and the left hemisphere for the right). Despite the external influence on their decision-making, the subjects continued to report that they believed their choice of hand had been made freely.
This was like a shock to me since I realize that our choices generally could be affected by presence of a magnetic field even when we are not the subject of the experiment!

There’s probably an app for it, too.

TMS requires terminals placed on the skin of your head; if this has been done, you already willed to have your “will” tampered with. No freewill issue there.

In the theoretical instance that someone could move your limbs by a magnetic wave not requiring equipment attached to your head, this would no more be a freewill issue than when your extremities jerk owing to an electric shock. We are physical beings, and can be made to move physically.

First off, this is mind control the opposite of any choice. Secondly, read the rest of the article, wiki wont go over why the results failed. Also, if the results had been 100% I could see this being a problem all though its still mind control. However, it was 80%, possibly responding to that area of the brain being stimulated. Again there, might have been a problem if they where asked to move the right and could only move the left. Here is the rest of the article, it’s important, the part where it says fails and universally negative in their results.

In late 2015, a team of researchers from the UK and the US published a paper demonstrating similar findings. The researchers concluded that “motor responses and the choice of hand can be modulated using tDCS”.[77] However, a different attempt by Sohn et al. failed to replicate such results;[78] later, Jeffrey Gray wrote in his book Consciousness: Creeping up on the Hard Problem that tests looking for the influence of electromagnetic fields on brain function have been universally negative in their result.

I unfortunately have read this wiki a lot over the past 4 years.

How that could resolve the problem, with the bold part?
No freewill issue there.
There is an issue with free will here.

That is the point. We are physical.

Yes we are. And for that very reason, our freewill is limited.

The concept of the human will as perfectly free is a mirage. But we are called to make use of whatever limited freedom we possess.
