Why does credit/discredit for a free will choice require that it should precede from a temptation.?
If I get tempted for a sexual sin and make the wrong choice, all celestial heads are up in horror and I’m summarily marched by my concience to confession.
If under a mild pensive spiritually calm moment under an apple tree on a sunny day I make the decision I no longer wish a sexual drive(ref:left hand, bad, cut off, yada, yada…) the only reaction it illicits is disinterest,(sound of crickets chirping ).
My choice here should illicit as much joy and granting in this sacrifice I offer to God, as my decision to sin and the reaction of horror that caused, as I will no longer be having a libido as a launching pad for Satan, therefore no longer offending God.?.
The missing factor in the second is Satan. There may be a war going on between God and Satan, but when opportunities pop up that can nip it in the bud in favor of God and man, we get no reaction. God doesn’t seem to like occasions permanently being removed. A little intrigue must remain I guess byproducts of the test.
When you are the recipient of suffocating love, sometime the lover forgets you need to come up for air.
