Battle of Vienna September 11 1683.
Excellent movie.
Awesome dialog from 1.22.00 to 1.27.00 and also thee sermon at the beginning of the movie.
Kara Mustafa: …all Europe will have to submit to Allah.
Fr. Marco: The true God has no use for submission. He wants men to be free. To return His love for them.

I was wondering, is this lack of spiritual freedom the main cause that stops the development of democracies in the muslim countries? For example the Turkey Constitution says that the main role of the army is to stop any involvement of religion in politics… Christian countries have such a multitude of fighters for freedom, not only for national but also for social freedom and against oppression.
I am sorry if I cant manage to respond to posts, but I’m interested in your opinions.

St. Pope John Paul II said: “Be men and women of freedom! But remember: Human freedom is a freedom wounded by sin. It is a freedom which itself needs to be set free. Christ is its liberator.”

From the movie: “Between my heart and my faith, I must choose my faith. That is what makes us Muslims so different than you.”

Perhaps how we govern is how we perceive God/Allah’s “governance.” Christians believe God to be fatherly, caring, loving, merciful, and the author of free will. God gives us free will so we may choose right from wrong but He also gives us the tools to understand the difference between right from wrong. I haven’t studied Islam as deeply as Christianity but it seems from what I have read, Islam teaches God is unknowable, rules with an iron fist, is determined to at least test men with the knowledge that some are destined for hell, and that there is a path of forced conversion. Christ told us God gave us the (Mosaic) Law because we did not understand the previous laws given by God but He also gave us simpler laws to follow (Love God with all your soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself.) Muslims appear to be following a (Sharia) law that does not allow for free will. Our religions seem diametrically opposed despite what the CCC teaches; Muslims worship the same God as Christians.

Interesting how Abul, after living a while in Italy with a christian wife, leave up everything and goes to join the jihad against his friends (or so they thought him as a friend). Very realistic and scary, if you think that such a guy can get too close to nuclear silos.
The worst of all is the fact that no Islamic religious authority have ever declared that the suicidal/terrorist criminals end up in Hell. They condemn the attacks(???) but they do not comment on the religious motivation; the concept of Jihad stands on in the Muslim religion. How can they believe that God needs guys such those traitors of their oath, who disguise and go and kill children, women and any body else who cant protect himself?
Isn’t this concept of Jihad in the Muslim religion actually a form of hate speech, leading their believers to a criminal behavior against people of other religion or authorities?
