Moses and Saint Paul both affirmed that the natural law is planted in our hearts. The Commandments and the Gospel embellish and clarify that law. A well formed conscience needs at least a clear sense of natural law to flourish. Even among atheists who reject Moses and Christ, you will find some who have a horror of abortion. They are responding to the natural law. But among some Christians you will find a defense of abortion or various ways to excuse its legalization. Such people are not without the natural law in their hearts, but they have covered it up with lies presented to them by the Father of Lies, much as he presented the first lie to Adam and Eve and they fell for it.
