Friday June 8: Join the Annual Global Rosary Relay for Priests

I happened upon a page for an Annual Global Rosary Relay for the sanctification of priests on Friday, June 8 this year.
Seems like this is a cause we can all get behind.

If you want to join, just click on “Participating Shrines” and you will see which locations in your country are praying and at what time. If you happen to be near a Participating Shrine and can join them physically at the specified time, you can do that, or you can just pray along from wherever you happen to be. If you cannot join the prayers for your country (like you have to be at work at that time), then feel free to pick a time to pray and use the “Participating Shrines” to see what country is praying at that time so you can join your prayers to theirs. It’s 24 hours long so some country will be praying at all times during the day.

Then when you have picked a time and are ready to pray, click on “How to Pray on the Day” and follow the directions.

I am not located near any of the US Shrines but will be praying along and joining my prayers to the US prayers at the specified time for US.

My parish is participating with an Akathist to the Theotokos in union with the Rosary Relay. Tomorrow morning at 5:30 am is our scheduled time. ( Something to offer up, I suppose!)

I’m going to join the EWTN live broadcast one at 3:30 pm Eastern time as well, since I’m working from home today and I need to catch up my daily rosaries for this week anyway. Need 2 more rosaries today to get all caught up.

I prayed specially for all your new priests from the other thread as well as all the new and existing priests for Archdioceses of Philadelphia and Baltimore and Dioceses of Cleveland, Youngstown and Allentown. I think I need to pray for a few more dioceses where I spend time so I’ll do that on the EWTN rosary.

Now joining EWTN live broadcast rosary from Irondale, Alabama, for Round 3.

(Just noticed they have a uniformed police/ security officer standing squarely in the doorway of the chapel)

This rosary I am especially remembering priests of the Archdiocese of Birmingham (UK), Diocese of Westminster (UK), Archdiocese of Washington DC (USA), Diocese of Lincoln (USA), Diocese of Buffalo (USA) and Diocese of St. Catharine’s (Canada).

About to start Round 4, joining the live broadcast from the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus in Honolulu.

This Rosary I will be especially remembering priests of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, the Diocese of Honolulu, all the USA Jesuit, Franciscan, Mercedarian, Vincentian, Redemptorist, and Norbertine priests, and all priests mentioned in CAF Prayer Intentions open and closed threads.

Apart from the Sanctification of Priests intentions, I also include Jack McCoy and all CAF members generally in this Rosary as I promised to Jack on another thread.

Next broadcast will be on EWTN at 9:30 pm Eastern time, from Lourdes. Not sure if it will be a rebroadcast but I plan to pray along anyway.

It’s interesting getting to pray with people all over the world today. If I hadn’t been busy this morning I could have prayed with a few more countries too, even though only a handful of the locations are broadcasting it.

Now praying Round 5, my last round for today, along with a rebroadcast of priests and people praying the Rosary Relay in the grotto at Lourdes earlier today.

I will be praying on this round especially for vocations and for all the priests in all the dioceses throughout the world where I have received any sacraments or visited a Catholic church or shrine, which would include all the dioceses I already prayed for above and then quite a few more. And for all the prayer intentions involving priests on CAF, plus any other intentions I said I would add to my next rosary.
