update for you if you are still interested.
Talked with my friend last night via phone, he said he talked with his wife for a few hours Sunday afternoon when she came to get the rest of her stuff. Apparently, the guy in charge of the mission trip she was thinking of going on (it was through her church), said you are not coming on this trip with your marriage as it is.
So now her take is that she has never been free and she wants to live on her own for awhile. Missionary work may not be as important anymore. They started dating in college and got married one year after graduation. She has agreed to go to a counselor, but only once, next week. Hopefully she will agree to keep going.
She will not go to her pastor anymore because he and his assistant pastor came to her and said she needs to try to work on her marriage. Before this all came about, she talked about how great the pastor was but now she is upset. So now she is pushing away her church, which she was involved in greatly.
Basically, anyone who tries to tell her what to do, she pushes away. They have a greed to separate for now, she has moved out, and my friend is still a bit lost. He is going to work again and working out, and he will continue to go to a counselor, with or with out her to try and work out any issues he may have. I plan on talking with her next week, and keep an open mind and really listen to her side.
I am by no means a psychologist, but it seems to me that she may be bi-polar. Can anyone tell me some signs that i would look for if she were? or just tell me i am way off the mark, that would help me too
One thing my friend said about her was that she often times would be on a project, and she would get in modes where everything would have to be her way and she would stay up late making calls or working, sleeping very little. Then she would just crash for a few days, sleeping long hours, returning no phone calls, canceling plans and becoming inaccessible to the outside world.
i am rambling, sorry, once again, prayers and comments are welcome.
Thanks
Dan
