Does anyone like the show Friends?

I know it wasn’ the most family friendly show, or the most moral, but it was funny. I miss it because you felt like you knew the characters so well.

I just thought of this because Season 10 is out now, and after this one, there is no more…:crying:

Lemme know your thoughts!

There are three types of people in this world. People who like Friends, people who like Seinfeld, and people who like both. I’m a Seinfeld guy. 👍

I’ll admit it… I watched it pretty much the last 5 years and enjoyed it.

I was really happy to see the way it ended… and we all know IT HAD TO END!!! They were running out of story lines…

My wife liked Friends. I found all 6 of them to be very annoying. But I did appreciate the Chrissie Hynde (sp?) appearance.

As for Seinfeld. The cast in that are a bit annoying too. But I like it. And have started DVD collecting. It’s a shame the BBC here in the UK generally stuck it on at random times usually post midnight. I only saw a few episodes when it was shown.

Amazon was selling the complete Friends boxset for £120 but it’s gone up. Thankfully this cuts down the temptation for my wife to buy it.

I like Friends. I think it is really funny. I think generally women like Friends and men like Seinfield. While my husband liked Friends, he would prefer to watch Seinfield.

My favorite show is 7th Heaven. I have been watching it for years! I started when the character “Ruthie” was about 6yrs old. Now she is 15!! I love all those old episodes.

I also like “That 70’s Show” I know it is not very moral, but it is funny and reminds me of my childhood.

“Wife Swap” is also good because it make me feel like a good mom.

Whatever happened to the TV show – Joan of Arcadia?

I remember that at the end of the most recent season (last year), Satan became a character… and a very likeable and politicially behind-the-scenes influential one, at that. But nobody except Joan (and Satan and God, of course) know that Satan is afoot.

Couldn’t stand that show when it came on, can’t stand it even now!
I did’nt waste anytime watching it. It gets a zero rating from me.

Okay… I see that according to the official Web site that Joan of Arcadia is on CBS on Friday nights at 8 PM Eastern and Pacific time zones.

Yet, according to fan sites for the show, it’s reported that CBS cancelled the show because of low ratings.

Hey… that had a LOT to do with the time and date that they showed it! Friday! at 8 pm!

Er… wasn’t that the timeframe for Friends? I was never a fan of Friends… especially after the first episode. They were all getting to be rather full of their image and impressed by themselves that I just decided not to subject myself to their show.

The shows I watch are EWTN, Occasionally touched by an angel,
old Clint Eastwood movies, * the good the bad and the ugly*
unforgiven * all the harry callahan ones* I think the other ones
are fistful of dollars, and for a few dollars more? I liked those
hugo montenegro’s whisteling music is nice :)Hang 'en High,
High plains drifter I believe are the other 2.

Not true. There are many of us who don’t like either. 😛

Jerry Seinfeld is whinier than my kids and David Schwimmer makes my skin crawl.

I’ll take British comedy any day.

*Friends *is my guilty pleasure, since I’ve given up *Desperate Housewives. *I enjoy the writing, the characters and the situations. I always have a laugh at that show.
Yes, it’s very secular, I know.
David Schwimmer’s character, Ross, is most everyone’s least favorite character. I understand he’s not doing much acting anymore. Mostly directing now.
I LOVE Monica in the fatsuit and Rachel with her “original” nose.

Eh - it’s a cute show. I didn’t watch it regularly though, I never really saw what the fuss was about. I like Seinfeld but my husband thinks it’s annoying. (it’s not really his type of humor…sometimes I think he doesn’t get it 😛 ) but I’ve seen pretty much all the episodes of Seinfeld that are good so I will almost never watch a rerun now…

Oh and whoever likes That 70’s Show…it isn’t that moral and sometimes I feel a little guilty but gosh it’s funny. The character of Eric is off this season though so it’s a little weird.

I’ll watch friends when Seinfeld and the Simpsons aren’t on. I’m a true Seinfeld fan.

Ross was so annoying. Alls he did was whine and cry. He reminded me of my brother because they’re both pompous know-it-alls. If the wrote his character off the show I wouldn’t have minded.

I loved both Friends and Seinfeld; Thursdays aren’t the same without them. Yes, I know they weren’t moral, but I recognize and can appreciate that they are just TV shows.

I have to admit I loved Ross, but my favorite was Chandler.

My favorite episodes of Friends were usually the ones that involved Thanksgiving and the one where Chandler and Monica got engaged and during the credits they were dancing to Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight”. For Seinfeld it would have to be the one where Kramer wore the painted on blue jeans, the one with Mel Torme, and when Kramer invented the “bro” or “manzier”.

There’ll never be another character like Kramer or a show as original as Seinfeld, but I hated the last episode.

I am the 3rd type who likes them both. Seinfeld was definitely more of my intellectual favorite, but Friends satisfied my girly need for romantic stories. I now watch Grey’s Anatomy and The Office. Great shows!

The dislike for Ross is horrible…:tsktsk:

He was a funny character, with his incessant need to correct and act intelligent. However, he was really good at physical humor, like when the cat jumps on him while on the balcony or the time he and Chandler went to the bed and breakfast in Vermont and he ate all that maple candy.

By far, Friends was a better show than most. It has everything. And the characters are anyone and everyone. I know my whole family, girlfriend, etc think I am exactly like Chandler because of my cheesy humor, use of humor in bad situations, and my incredible lack of self-appreciation. So I ask, what friend are you?

I was never a fan of Seinfeld, mostly because I was younger when it first started. Nothing bad to say about it.

I’m definitely a “Monica”, with her cooking, compulsive need for organization and militant cleaning and the sometimes nerdiness she shares with her brother (remember when they got on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve…classic).

I like That 70’s Show too, but I think it’s going to start to go downhill now that Eric is off the show. I always thought he was the funniest.

As for Friends, I totally dislike the show. I just never liked any of the characters. I’m more of a Seinfeld person–it’s more my kind of humor.
