Friendship with Jesus

My son was just told that it would be good for him to establish a “friendship” with Jesus. This is a new concept for both of us. Does anyone have any information or recommendations to get him started? Thanks for any help.

i’m still working on that myself. my understanding is conversing with Jesus: what a great day, thank you. these are my fears. these are my prayers. help me to know your will.

Help him to pray in his own words, to talk to Jesus as a dear friend, to realize that Jesus really listens and cares about everything that is going on in our lives.
